As nearly 20% of the population, people with disabilities comprise the largest minority population in Michigan. The political potential of the disability community is immeasurable, especially in an era of razor-thin election margins. The Disability Caucus mobilizes this power.
The statewide Disability Caucus brings people with disabilities into the political process creating direct influence over policies that affect the quality of their lives. The Disability Caucus directs a political action committee to endorse candidates responsible for decisions that impact the lives of people with disabilities and the services available to them.
